January 2–23, 2027. Beginning Saturday, January 2, Lincoln Road businesses and the community are invited to make lanterns, host workshops, illuminate storefronts and get creative in the weeks leading up to the inaugural Miami Lantern Parade™ on January 23.

January becomes Lantern Month
The street gradually begins to glow. People make lanterns in businesses. Storefronts transform. Restaurants participate. Artists create. Families discover Lantern Stops. Businesses build parade teams. Then on Saturday, January 23, 2027, all of that energy comes together for Miami Lantern Parade™.
Do one small thing or create something elaborate. Participation is free and separate from sponsorship. No business needs to buy a sponsorship to host a workshop, light a window, become a Lantern Stop or enter a parade team.
Host a lantern workshop
Businesses, restaurants, cafés, galleries, hotels, schools and community organizations can host lantern-making workshops beginning Saturday, January 2, 2027 and continuing through January 23. Host one workshop or twenty. Choose the dates and times that work for you between January 2 and January 23.

Lincoln Road businesses are invited to transform their storefront windows with light, lanterns, art and imagination.
Proposed celebratory recognitions — not monetary prizes. Recognition details and any People's Choice voting will be announced once finalized.
Become a Lantern Stop
A participating Lincoln Road business can become a Lantern Stop by doing one or more of the following:

- ✦ Host an approved artist installation

Bring your team into the parade
Which Lincoln Road business can create the most imaginative lantern team? Invite your staff to make lanterns inspired by your business, the neighborhood, Miami, the ocean, art, architecture — or anything imaginative. This is about creativity, not advertising: no commercial signs in the procession.
Dine in the Light
Restaurants, cafés and hospitality businesses can create their own parade-period experiences: lantern dinners, family activities, themed desserts, mocktails (or cocktails where legally appropriate), pre-parade dining, post-parade gatherings or other creative ideas. No discounts required.
Turn an empty window into light
Lincoln Road landlords with vacant storefronts can consider allowing approved artists, schools or community groups to create temporary illuminated window installations.
Any such use requires the property owner's approval and all applicable BID, City, permit and insurance approvals. We do not have permission to use any vacant space unless its owner grants it.

Subject: A reason for people to come to your door this January — Light Up Lincoln Road Dear Lincoln Road tenant, January is usually a quiet month after the holidays. This year, Lincoln Road has something new to give people a reason to come back, walk, and look through your window. From January 2 to 23, 2027, Light Up Lincoln Road builds toward the first Miami Lantern Parade™ on Saturday, January 23 (proposed route: Alton Road to Drexel Avenue along Lincoln Road — subject to final approvals). Families, schools and neighbors will be making lanterns for three weeks, and we'd like them making lanterns, looking at windows and stopping in at your business. Pick whatever fits your business. One small thing is plenty: • Host a lantern-making workshop: one afternoon or several, any date and time you choose. People come in, stay a while and come back to show you what they made. • Light your window for the Illuminated Window Challenge: a lantern display, a glowing scene, anything that makes people stop. • Become a Lantern Stop: a place on the Road where people know to drop in. • Offer a parade-season dining or retail idea: your own menu item, display or experience.
